BREWFM Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats
Our ADGA herd name is BREWFM, which stands for The Brew Farm. That was the name of our farm in
Mossyrock WA. When we moved back home to Rhode Island we decided to keep our herd’s name for
continuity.
We started out with two pregnant Nigerian Dwarf Goats in 2016. We focus on breeding
Promisedland Lines with low 10 Generation Kintracks COIs. Goldfinch one of our founding does was a
SG
NC PROMISEDLAND MG BEAU descendant. Goldie had the best temperament & was a great milker. She even
had a GCH win as a junior. In our herd our breeding goals are temperament, confirmation & milk
production. It would also be nice if they could win in the show ring. We like low maintenance,
maternal does that can milk into their twilight years. We use
Linear Appraisal results & PTI/ETA Ratings among other factors to make our breeding decisions.
As a herd we participated in ADGA Linear Appraisals. We would love to put the girls on milk test
in the future, but is a huge undertaking. Our goats test A/A, A/B or B/B for Alpha-s1 Casein. These variants of Alpha-s1 Casein
yield milk higher in butterfat which makes the best cheese & soap. Our herd also tests negative for
the following: CL, CAE & Johne's, Tuberculosis & Brucellosis.
Below is our tentative 2027 Calender. Kidding will hoepfully be concentrated in Feb/March.
Our three oldest junior does will kid in May. It is possible we may breed our youngest two junior does but
that would be for kidding in July/Aug. Would love to make all the shows listed
but fairly certian I will not have the budget to make it happen. If we can only do ADGA Linears &
one show it will be the North County Showcase.
